Through my company Is It Meant To Do That?, I provide ongoing development, support, and hosting for the NHS AHSN network’s MyWay Diabetes platform.

The system delivers training for both patients and healthcare professionals, including short-window training camps where AWS infrastructure has to flex to handle big surges in concurrent users, all while keeping performance and reliability rock-solid.

My role covers everything from the day-to-day running of education and patient data systems through to bigger pieces of engineering work. Some highlights:

  • Running WordPress at scale on my own secure hosting platform, tuned for healthcare workloads.

  • Routine maintenance, audits, and testing for accessibility (WCAG), security, and user experience.

  • LearnDash development and bug-fixing to keep training and certification workflows seamless.

  • Building supporting systems, including an NHS GP lookup tool.

  • Managing complex AWS setups, including scaling for training camp peaks.

  • Meeting strict SLAs, including out-of-hours commitments.

Working on healthcare tech, performance engineering, and digital accessibility, it’s been satisfying to deliver something that’s robust enough for NHS-level expectations while still evolving quickly with user needs.
