Beresfords, one of Essex’s largest independent estate agents, needed more than a website — they needed a digital platform that could keep pace with the property market. Their WordPress site, powered by the Reapit API, demanded constant care: new listings, campaign updates, and ongoing change requests from multiple, external agencies.

My role combined day-to-day technical maintenance with strategic improvements designed to boost performance, SEO, and user engagement.

Here’s what that looked like:

  • Reapit API Integration & Maintenance: ensuring property data stayed fresh, accurate, and reliably synced with the site.

  • Business-As-Usual (BAU) & Campaign Support: handling ongoing requests from both the agency I consulted for and another partner agency, while keeping Beresfords’ site stable.

  • SEO Enhancements: building unique SEO pages dynamically “on the fly” for long-tail property search queries.

  • Structured Data: adding schema markup for branches and property listings to improve visibility in search results.

  • New Developments Section: architecting and building a dedicated area to showcase new-build homes and Land listings.

The result: a highly maintainable estate agency website that ranks better in search, showcases properties more effectively, and scales as the business grows.

Working with Beresford’s highlighted the unique challenges estate agents face online:

  • Constant content changes driven by property availability.

  • High SEO competition from national property portals.

  • Coordination with multiple agencies while ensuring technical consistency.

If I had more time and control, I’d further refine the performance layer (hosting and Core Web Vitals), and expand local SEO optimisations for each branch office to drive more footfall directly.

This project demonstrates how estate agency websites can blend real-time property data with SEO-driven features to stand out in a competitive market.
